Placitas Holiday Sale

The Placitas Holiday Fine Arts & Crafts Sale is calling it quits.

The Holiday Sale has been one of the most popular arts and crafts fairs in New Mexico for nearly 40 years. Some of the best artists and artisans have juried into the show, which was held in the village of Placitas the weekend before Thanksgiving. It has been organized by a committee of local artists and after nearly four decades they're no longer able to do it.

  • Thanks to all the wonderful patrons of the show, many of whom we've become close to over the years.
  • Thanks to the great artists and artisans, not only for their incredible work but also for making the show so friendly.
  • Thanks to Placitas Winery (formerly Anasazi Fields Winery), Placitas Presbyterian Church, and Placitas Elementary School for accomodating our special needs.
  • Thanks to our sponsors for their enthusiastic support for the arts in Placitas.
  • Thanks, especially to John Roth and Rock Hill Electric for their many years of providing electricity for our big tent.
  • Finally, thanks to the small group of artists who shared triumphs and disasters running the show, who shared a common vision of the show, and who became close friends because of it. They are Nancy Couch, Jon Couch, Mary Hofmann, Bunny Bowen, and Dana Patterson Roth.

Update July, 2021: The Placitas Holiday Sale was held annually from 1982 through 2019. Upon the retirement and dissolution of the local PHS board, the show has been discontinued. What a great run this show had!
